Referring to Colonel Gbenga Adegbola as the "True Liberator of Oke-Ogun" is never a gainsaying. "If you want to lead the parade, come to the front" ~ Ted Turner

Referring to Colonel Gbenga Adegbola as the "True Liberator of Oke-Ogun" is never a gainsaying. Though, Ted Turner, the executive Chairman of CNN once said that 'if you want to lead the parade, come to the front'. When Gbenga Adegbola Rtd.  started his journey to leading his own people in Oyo State especially Okeogun axis, he did not think of praise singing therein.  Now, his consistency in bringing his people out of the cacoon has been noticed and the accolades has also started. His unmatched phylantropism has been noticed and rewarded.  No wonder , he recently bagged a meritorious award from the think thank of Kakaki Okeogun Media, an Oke-Ogun ace media which celebrated 26 years down the line in journalism a few days ago. He bagged an award which has never been given to anyone in Oke-Ogun "The Okeogun Liberator Award".  Before the announcement of the award, he donated the whooping sum of 2 million naira, the ...

Oyo 2027: Uphold Party Integrity, Reject Media Speculation ~ Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem (AKK).

Oyo 2027: Uphold Party Integrity, Reject Media Speculation ~ Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem (AKK). My attention has been drawn to recent reports circulating in some sections of the media suggesting the emergence of certain individuals as "consensus candidates" for various governorship seats across the federation, including our dear Oyo State. Indeed, I recognise the vibrancy of our media space, but it is imperative to note that fanning the embers of such speculation at this stage only serves to create unnecessary discord within the progressive fold. In the buildup of the road to 2027, we must distinguish between strategic political narratives and the actual constitutional processes of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC). Our focus must remain on strengthening the party’s structures rather than entertaining premature conclusions that do not reflect the current realities on the ground.  I am fully aware that in the theater of po...

Oyo 2027: Leadership Requires Blend Of Conscience, Competence, Global Mindset -Kareem As political activities ahead of the 2027 governorship election gather momentum in Oyo State, an academic turned-politician, Dr Adewale Kolapo Kareem, has stepped forward with a governance vision he describes as “evidence-based” and “solution-driven.” The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in this interview with OLADIPUPO AWOJOBI spoke on his ambition to lead the state, outlining his priorities across education, economic development, healthcare, and security, while positioning his academic background and global exposure as key assets in redefining governance and restoring the state’s “Pacesetter” status. What motivated your transition from the academia into politics? I don’t view this as a ‘transition’ in the sense of abandonment, but rather as an ‘application’ of expertise. Politics is the ultimate department of human affairs; it dictates the quality of our...

Oyo 2027: Amid Eid Celebrations, AKK Reaffirms Child Benefit Payments for Oyo Families. Our Realistic Tomorrow: On Policy, Scrutiny, and the Future of Education. By Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem (AKK). As we mark the joyous occasion of Eid al-Fitr, I extend my warmest greetings to the Muslim Ummah across Oyo State and beyond. May this season of sacrifice, reflection, and gratitude bring peace, renewed hope, and abundant blessings to every home. Eid reminds us of compassion, responsibility, and the collective duty to uplift one another, values that must also reflect in our governance and public policies. One of the most profound beauties of the democracy we practice is the sacred space it provides for every citizen to express opinions and interrogate public affairs without fear or favour. This freedom of expression is the bedrock upon which my aspiration to serve is built. I have always maintained that the people not only have the right but also the responsibility to...

My focus to develop Oyo State is absolute — 2027 APC Guber Hopeful Dr Adewale Kolapo Kareem Busola Oworu March 18, 2026 Adewale Kolapo Kareem Dr Adewale Kolapo Kareem is an educator, philanthropist and a governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC). In this interview with BUSOLA OWORU, he speaks on his political journey, governorship ambition, and the dreams he has for Oyo State. Excerpts: What motivated your transition from academia into politics? I don’t view this as a “transition” in the sense of abandonment, but rather as an “application” of expertise. Politics is the ultimate department of human affairs; it dictates the quality of our collective life. As an academic and researcher, I have spent years studying systems, patterns, and solutions. My research has consistently shown that for a society to thrive, it must be led by those who have been tested and have succeeded in rigorous, decent and evidence-based environments. I am br...

Oke-Ogun and the Long Road to Producing a Governor ~ Bola K. Fasasi

Oke-Ogun and the Long Road to Producing a Governor ~ Bola K. Fasasi The greatest obstacle to the emergence of a governor from Oke-Ogun may not lie outside the region. It lies within. For decades, conversations about political marginalization have echoed across our towns and communities. Many people believe Oke-Ogun has been denied its rightful place in the political hierarchy. While there may be elements of truth in that sentiment, an honest reflection forces us to confront a deeper and more uncomfortable reality: Oke-Ogun itself has often undermined its own chances. A community’s political strength depends not only on numbers but also on unity, strategy, and long-term investment. Unfortunately, these are the very areas where Oke-Ogun has frequently fallen short. Instead of presenting a united front, we are often divided by personal ambition, local rivalries, and political short-sightedness. Too many individuals are willing to sacrifice the region’s colle...
