Oyo 2027: APC Has No Governorship Candidate Yet” — AKK Calls for Unity, Inclusiveness in Oyo Race. I attended the Ibadan South West Local Government APC meeting today, where I made it unequivocally clear that our party, APC, does not yet have a governorship candidate. This remains the position until a consensus is officially reached and agreed upon by all aspirants, and duly communicated by the party leadership. I also reaffirmed my unwavering loyalty to our great party, regardless of the eventual outcome of the governorship race. At this critical time, the paramount consideration must be inclusiveness in decision-making, as well as the readiness of whoever emerges to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to advance the development of Oyo State. My commitment to the progress and prosperity of Oyo State remains absolute and unwavering. I have therefore urged my supporters and group members to remain calm, focused, and respectful of party processe...

Oyo 2027: AKK support group urges APC to prioritise strategy over sentiment in guber selection. A support group advocating the emergence of Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem (AKK) as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the 2027 elections has urged the party to prioritise strategy over sentiment in its selection process. In a statement issued on Wednesday and signed by its head, Sunday Ademoroti, the AKK Support Group warned that the APC must avoid repeating past mistakes that, according to it, cost the party electoral victories in Oyo State. The group argued that ongoing national reforms under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would largely be determined by performance at the subnational level, stressing that state governors now play a decisive role in governance delivery and impact. It described Oyo State as standing at a critical political crossroads, where the APC must decide between entrenched political patterns and presenting a candi...

2027: Win Oyo or Lose It Again: APC Must Choose Strategy Over Sentiment. — A Statement by AKK Support Group. As Nigeria undergoes critical reforms under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, one reality is becoming increasingly clear: the success or failure of these reforms will largely be determined at the state level. Governors today are not ceremonial figures; they are the engines that drive delivery, execution, and real impact. Oyo State now stands at a defining crossroads. For the All Progressives Congress (APC), the choice is straightforward but consequential. The party can either repeat familiar political patterns that have previously led to setbacks, or it can embrace a more strategic path by presenting a candidate capable of uniting the party and delivering results. From our considered position, that path points clearly to Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem (AKK). This election must move beyond the usual metrics of popularity and political noise. Oyo State do...

2027 and Beyond: AKK Positions Competence Over Politics in Oyo Race.  It was an immense honour to stand before the respected and dearing assembly of the Ibadan Progressive Association Australia (IPAA) during the 10th Anniversary celebration. Engaging with our brothers and sisters in the diaspora is always a profound reminder that the spirit of the Pacesetter State knows no geographical boundaries. My address to the association was centered on a singular, unwavering theme: the urgent need to bridge the gap between our current realities in Oyo State and the sophisticated, functional society we all envision. I shared my deep-seated commitment to serve our people with a passion that is backed by lofty, progressive ideas; reforms that are not designed for the aesthetics of a campaign but for the real and systemic transformation of our beloved state.  During our deliberations, I took the opportunity to distill the core pillars of my vision, speci...

Oyo 2027: Olubadan’s Wisdom Key to Future Development — Adewale Kareem. In keeping with the timeless traditions of my heritage and as an illustrious son of the soil, on Friday, April 10, 2026, I had the distinct honour of being received in audience by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa I. This royal visit to the palace was a significant opportunity to pay homage to a father and a sovereign whose life has been a repository of service and dedication to the people. While our discussions centered on a couple of pertinent issues of mutual concern, the atmosphere was one of deep cultural resonance and paternal warmth which underscores the vital connection between the contemporary aspirations of the younger generation and the enduring custody of our historical heritage.  I have always maintained that the royal institution is the bedrock of our collective identity and the fundamental root of o...
