PAN OKE-OGUN AGENDA
Oke-Ogun has the HUMAN MATERIAL to produce the next governor of Oyo State come 2027; for EQUITY, FAIRNESS, AND INCLUSIVENESS
The region, which comprises ten local government areas with rich agricultural land, cultural heritage, and a vantage location surporting international trade, has long occupied a strategic position in the state's political landscape.
As the 2027 gubernatorial election approaches, Oke-Ogun is poised to play a significant role in determining the next governor of Oyo State. Here are a few reasons:
1. Demographics: Oke-Ogun has a large and growing population, with a significant number of eligible voters. This demographic advantage positions the region to wield considerable influence in the election.
2. Economic importance: Oke-Ogun is home to several key economic hub potentials, including the Okerete Free Trade zone, agricultural zone, and huge solid mineral industrial area. The region's potential economic significance makes it an attractive base for political power.
3. Political history: Oke-Ogun has a rich political history, having produced notable political leaders and played a crucial role in shaping the state's political space.
4. Rotational arrangement: The Oyo State political arrangement, like in other states and even Nigeria at large, should accommodate the principle of POWER ROTATION for equity, fairness, and inclusiveness.
It is highly desirable that this should be implemented in 2027 - rotating political power amongst the component political
Zones of the state viz: Oyo, Ogbomosho, Oke-Ogun, Ibadan/Ibarapa.
To produce the next governor, Oke-Ogun must:
1. Unite behind a credible candidate
2. Mobilize voters within and outside the zone to increase political participation
3. Leverage economic and political networks
4. Build alliances with other regions
5. Present a compelling vision/developmental programme for the state.
By doing so, Oke-Ogun can increase its chances of producing the next governor of Oyo State in 2027 and contribute to the state's progress and development. The task is achievable by God's grace.
