SAN to prosecute the Baale of Ilua and 5 others

Another dimension into the case of those charged to court for assaulting Barr Abdul Waheed O Lawal.
The ministry of justice has agreed to grant a FIAT to any lawyer to prosecute the Baale of Ilua and others for various offences of kidnapping, attempted murder, assault and Conduct likely to cause a breach of Peace in Saki on the 13th November 2023.
When Barr Lawal was contacted, he declined comment and refused to reveal his strategy. But this writer can authoritatively say that Barr Lawal in consultation with the Nigeria Bar Association and MURIC is most likely going to settle with one of the three Senior Advocates of Nigeria who have earlier indicated their interest in prosecuting this case to a logical conclusion.
Many groups ranging from youths and elders who are not convinced that the defendants are remorseful have insisted that the case should proceed to trial so as to Serve detterence to others with such criminal minds.
There is no sane person who watched the video of the brutalization of a senior lawyer by bloody illiterate, particularly the youngest accused person who is still at large and would not condemn that barbaric act .
The general opinion is that the accused persons be made to face music. Meanwhile, the Oyo State Government, particularly the Attorney General has been very just and fair in his handling of this case. He didn't want anything that will affect the justice of this case, hence he has agreed to approve a fiat for any lawyer of Barr Lawal choice.
The case is adjourned to the 27th June, 2024 for hearing at the Chief Magistrate Court No 2, Iyaganku, Ibadan.
Meanwhile the Baale of Ilua in Saki, Mr. Azeez Kilani Omofoyewa remained suspended as it's the practice that any traditional chiefs or civil servants facing criminal trial stands suspended until he is discharged and acquitted.
