FEDERAL COLLEGE OF EDUCATION (SPECIAL) OYO, HOLDS 49TH MATRICULATION CEREMONY... AS DR ADEMOLA SALAMI ADMONISHES (1,154) NEW ENTRANTS ON DISCIPLINE
The Provost, Federal College of Education Special, Oyo, Dr. Ademola Rauf Salami has said that education without discipline is incomplete. He said this during the 49th matriculation ceremony held on Tuesday 10th February at the Oba Adeyemi Hall for the 2025/2026 academic session.
A total of 1,154 students participated in matriculation ceremony from the various schools in the College
Dr. Salami in his address advised the students against antisocial activities like cultism, examination misconduct, public fighting, use of vulgar languages, drug abuse, cohabitation, peddling of false information. He also advised the students to be law abiding particularly on laws guiding their studentship in the College. He also said as" Teachers in training, you’re expected to dress according to acceptable norms and avoid undue exposure of body parts as this will be critically viewed and severely sanctioned".
The Provost used the opportunity to inform the students of his studentship in the College. He said “it may interest you to know that I once matriculated in this College like you particularly from 1985 to 1988. This therefore tells you that we are joint owners of the College and we must collaborate to ensure that it is operated for great success”.
The Registrar ,Mr Joseph Araoye administered the matriculation oath while the legal officer Barrister Badmus Tunde took them on the oath against secret cultism. The Dean Student Affairs, Dr. A.B. Giwa took the students through the nitty gritty of the code of conduct.
Present at the ceremony were the College Librarian, Mrs. A.O. Imam, College acting Bursar represented by Assistant Deputy Bursar, Dr. Tunde Ajeigbe, Academic board members, Directors, Deans, Heads of Department, Heads of Unit, College communities,Parents and guardians.
