ABUJA 2026: NO TO IMPOSED CANDIDATES — OYO APC WILL NOT BE HIJACKED.
Yesterday in Abuja, I formally submitted my Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms, taking a decisive step in the race to rescue and rebuild Oyo State.
While there, I engaged directly with fellow aspirants, Barrister Akeem Agbaje and Dr. Ololade Bakare. What emerged from our discussions was clear and undeniable: the growing attempt to impose a scripted “consensus candidate” is unacceptable and will be firmly resisted.
Let it be known, Oyo APC is not for sale, and it is not a platform for political imposition.
Consensus, if it must exist, must come from genuine consultation, mutual respect, and the free will of all aspirants, not from backroom deals designed to sideline the voices of party faithful.
We refuse to be part of any arrangement that undermines democracy, disrespects stakeholders, or weakens our chances of victory.
Beyond this, our conversations were anchored on one shared objective: how to build a strong, united, and winning APC capable of reclaiming Agodi. We are committed to standing shoulder-to-shoulder, before, during, and after the primaries, to ensure that personal ambitions do not destroy our collective goal.
This is a defining moment for our party.
We either choose transparency, strength, and unity or risk another painful defeat.
We have chosen the path of courage.
We are mobilizing.
We are consolidating.
We are ready.
