ALL IS SET FOR NIGERIA TO HOST GAMBIAN CIVIL SERVICE DELEGATION ON PUBLIC SERVICE REFORM STUDY VISIT
The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation will host the Secretary to the Cabinet and Head of the Civil Service of the Republic of The Gambia, Alieu Njie, and his delegation on a strategic study visit to Nigeria from 20–24 June 2026.
A statement by the Director, Press and Public Relations, Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Eno Olotu, indicates that the visit is aimed at strengthening cooperation between the Nigerian and Gambian Civil Services through peer learning, exchange of reform experiences, and practical discussions on building more efficient, professional, and citizen-centred public institutions.
The statement discloses that the engagement will provide an opportunity for both Countries to share lessons on public service reform implementation, service delivery improvement, institutional capacity development, performance management, digital governance, and the use of technology to support more effective government operations.
It notes that the delegation will engage with the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Esther Walson-Jack, as well as selected Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), as well as relevant public service institutions.
The study visit reflects the shared commitment of Nigeria and The Gambia to strengthening public administration through cooperation, knowledge exchange, and practical learning. It also reinforces the importance of African countries drawing from one another’s reform experiences to improve governance and deliver better services to citizens.
