FCT POLICE CRACK TEAM ELIMINATES TWO KIDNAPPERS, RESCUES FIVE VICTIMS IN BYAZHIN
FCT Police Command says its crack team's coordinated operation has led to the rescue of five kidnapped victims in the Byazhin area of Abuja.
The operation followed recent abductions in the Paze Community, prompting intensified efforts by security agencies to track down the kidnappers.
The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Mohammed Sanusi, led the joint security team on a late-night clearance mission that resulted in a gun battle with the suspected criminals.
During the operation, two suspects were eliminated while two others were arrested. Security operatives also recovered two AK-47 rifles and magazines. Several members of the gang reportedly escaped with gunshot wounds.
Police said sustained pressure on the kidnappers forced them to abandon five hostages, who were rescued unharmed and taken for medical evaluation. Efforts are underway to reunite them with their families.
Meanwhile, security operatives have intensified search operations across Byazhin and surrounding communities to apprehend the fleeing suspects and dismantle the criminal network.
The Command has urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
