RTD COL. GBENGA ADEGBOLA REMEMBERS LATE GOV. ABIOLA AJIMOBI ON SIXTH ANNIVERSARY OF HIS DEMISE
Retired Colonel Gbenga Adegbola has paid glowing tribute to the late former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Isiaka Abiola Ajimobi, as Nigerians mark the sixth anniversary of his passing.
In a remembrance message commemorating the life and legacy of the former governor, Adegbola described Ajimobi as a great political icon, selfless leader, and visionary statesman whose impact on Oyo State and Nigeria continues to be felt years after his demise.
Ajimobi, fondly known as Shehu and Koseleri of Oyo State, passed away on June 25, 2020, leaving behind what many have described as a legacy of purposeful leadership and good governance. He served as Executive Governor of Oyo State from 2011 to 2019.
Reflecting on his contributions, Adegbola noted that Ajimobi dedicated his life to service, courage, and the advancement of the people, adding that his administration laid foundations that continue to inspire progress and development in Oyo State.
He further stated that the late governor's values of integrity, compassion, and commitment to public service remain a guiding light for many political leaders and followers.
"His achievements and sacrifices for the people will never be forgotten. Though he is no longer with us physically, his legacies live on in the hearts of the people and in the continued progress of Oyo State," Adegbola said.
As family members, political associates, and admirers continue to remember the late statesman, prayers and tributes continue to pour in, celebrating the life of a man widely regarded as one of Oyo State's most influential leaders.
