INFORMATION MINISTER CONGRATULATES OMONIYI ON APRA RE-ELECTION

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has congratulated Omoniyi Ibietan on his re-election as Secretary General of the African Public Relations Association, APRA.

A statement by the Minister's Special Assistant on Media, Rabiu Ibrahim, says the Minister described the re-election as a well-deserved recognition of Ibietan's professionalism, dedication and outstanding contributions to the growth of public relations across Africa.

Ibietan was re-elected at the APRA General Assembly held in Swakopmund, Namibia, alongside Mr. Arik Karani of Kenya as President and Professor Michele Mekeme of Cameroon as Vice President.

The Minister expressed confidence that Ibietan would continue to provide purposeful leadership in strengthening collaboration among public relations professionals across the continent while advancing Africa's digital transformation agenda.

Mohammed Idris also commended APRA for promoting ethical communication and professional excellence, expressing optimism that Nigeria's hosting of the 37th APRA Annual Conference and the World Public Relations Forum in Abuja later this year will further enhance the country's leadership in strategic communication.
