OYRTMA DECORATES YOUTH LEADER 'OLORI ODO' AS MARSHAL, CHARGES YOUTHS ON CIVIC RESPONSIBILITY
The Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA) has officially decorated Mr. Oyeniran Paul Olaoluwa popularly known as Olori Odo, as an OYRTMA Marshal in a special ceremony held at the Agency's headquarters.
The honour was conferred in recognition of his remarkable contributions to road safety advocacy and his steadfast partnership with the Authority's operations.
The OYRTMA General Manager, Commander Adeoye Ayoade, shed light on the rationale behind the award, emphasizing Mr. Oyeniran's outstanding track record in traffic management support at the Apata Zonal Command.
He noted that the youth leader's consistent efforts, unwavering dedication, and proactive assistance to OYRTMA personnel did not go unnoticed, ultimately drawing the attention of the management and firmly informing the decision to bestow this prestigious honour upon him.
The Executive Chairman Major Adekoya Adesagba (rtd) performed the decoration, describing Mr. Oyeniran as a true ambassador of good road traffic conduct and a beacon of exemplary behaviour. While presenting the insignia of the Marshal, the Chairman expressed the Authority's profound gratitude for the youth leader's selfless contributions to maintaining order and fostering a harmonious relationship between road users and the agency.
The Chairman used the platform to rally the youth of Oyo State, urging them to draw inspiration from Olori Odo's sterling example.
He remarked, "A society progresses only when its young people take ownership of its values. Mr. Oyeniran has shown us that influence is best used to build, not to break. I call on every young person in this state to emulate his discipline, his spirit of service, and his commitment to the safety of our roads. This is the kind of patriotism that we must celebrate and encourage across Oyo State."
In his heartfelt response, an elated Mr. Oyeniran Paul Olaoluwa expressed profound gratitude to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde for his unwavering commitment to improving road infrastructure and for consistently supporting agencies like OYRTMA to ensure safety and order on the state's roads. He dedicated the honour to the youth of Oyo State and pledged to continue his advocacy for responsible road usage.
The event concluded with group photographs and a renewed commitment from both the Authority and community stakeholders to collaborate further in ensuring safer roads across the state.
