NEW COMMANDANT, ABDULHAMID SALISU KABARA TAKES OVER LEADERSHIP OF NSCDC NIGER STATE COMMAND
The newly redeployed State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Niger State Command, Commandant Abudulhamid Salisu Kabara has formally assumed duty and taken over the leadership of the Command from Commandant Suberu Siyaka Aniviye.
A statement signed by the Command Spokesperson DSC Abubakar Rabiu Muti says the assumption of office comes at a particularly sensitive period for the Command, following the unfortunate deaths of thirty-seven persons arrested in connection with suspected illegal mining activities in the State.
Commandant Kabara expresses deep sadness over the loss of lives and extended his heartfelt sympathy to the families of the deceased and everyone affected by the unfortunate incident.
He says while the Corps remains committed to its statutory responsibilities of arrest, investigation, enforcement and the fight against illegal mining, the sanctity of human life must remain paramount.
He notes that the responsibility of protecting society and enforcing the law must go hand in hand with the responsibility to uphold the dignity, safety and welfare of persons in custody.
The Commandant prays Allah forgives the shortcomings of the deceased, and grants them eternal rest and gives their families, relatives and loved ones the strength, patience and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss the statement added.
