POLICE AIR WING OPERATIONS ELIMINATE 9 BANDITS, DESTROY CAMPS, RECOVER ARMS IN NORTH-WEST

Sustained aerial operations by the Nigeria Police Air Wing have eliminated seven suspected associates of notorious bandit kingpin, Ado Aleru in one of it's operations. The operations also disrupted bandit networks operating across Katsina and parts of Zamfara State.

A statement by the Force says the Air Wing carried out surveillance, reconnaissance, troop insertion, air cover and interdiction missions around Karaduwa, Matazu, Dutsin-Ma, Dan Musa and Yankuzo.

It adds, two senior lieutenants linked to another bandit leader, Kachalla Abdullahi Na Sanda were also eliminated around the Jangebe axis of Zamfara State.

Recovered and destroyed items include three PKM machine guns, three AK-47 rifles, 20 magazines, ammunition and a rocket launcher with warheads.

The coordinated air-ground operations have have disrupted bandit camps, communication and logistics networks, while supporting ground forces and facilitating the rescue of captives.

The Force says the aerial operations will continue to prevent the regrouping of communities.
