2027: Loyalty Over Ambition, Kareem To Back Party Decision Despite Political Spending.

Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem, a gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo state, has pledged to abide by the party’s final decision ahead of the 2027 elections, despite committing nearly ₦1billion to building his political structure.

Speaking during an appearance on a Radio Programe in Ibadan, Kareem described politics as a platform for service rather than personal enrichment. 

He dismissed claims that his substantial financial involvement was driven by expectations of returns, insisting instead that it reflects a lifelong commitment to philanthropy and societal development.

The Australian-based educationist noted that his financial independence positions him to focus entirely on public welfare. 

He explained that his professional earnings abroad surpass what is obtainable in Nigerian public office, reinforcing his stance that his political ambition is not profit-driven.

Kareem also highlighted his prior investments in Oyo State, including the construction of three schools and a central mosque valued at over ₦1billion.

Outlining his vision for governance, Kareem revealed plans for an “evidence-based” administration anchored on a 20-point agenda. 

Central to this blueprint are reforms in the education sector and the introduction of a localized credit-scoring system designed to expand access to finance for residents without traditional collateral.

Despite his extensive grassroots mobilization across all 33 local government areas of the state, Kareem emphasized his loyalty to the APC, disclosing that he has engaged in high-level consultations with party leaders.

He maintained that his ambition is driven by a desire to contribute to the state’s progress and affirmed his readiness to support whoever emerges as the party’s candidate.
