SEVEN ABDUCTED STUDENTS RESCUED IN BORNO STATE
Seven students abducted by gunmen from Lassa village in Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State have been rescued.
The students were preparing for their WAEC examination when the attackers stormed the community and whisked them away.
Vigilante groups and the Civilian Joint Task Force immediately pursued the gunmen, while the Nigerian Air Force provided aerial support.
On sighting the aircraft, the attackers abandoned their motorcycles and fled, leaving the victims behind.
The seven rescued students have since been reunited with their families, while security agencies say investigations are ongoing.
