The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the commencement of its 2026 recruitment exercise, inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for entry-level positions across Grade Levels 07, 08, 09, 10 and 12.
The vacancies were announced on the Commission’s recruitment portal on Monday, with applications scheduled to run from Monday, July 20, 2026, to Monday, July 27, 2026.
According to the notice, the recruitment is aimed at strengthening the Commission’s capacity in electoral administration, voter registration, data management, election logistics and other critical electoral operations.
Available positions
INEC is recruiting into the following categories:
Professional Cadre (Lawyers, Clinical Officers, IT Officers, Engineers, Accountants and others) – Grade Levels 09, 10 and 12.
Administrative Officer II (Registration Area Officer) – Grade Level 08.
Executive Officer (Assistant Registration Area Officer) – Grade Level 07.
Qualifications
Professional Cadre (GL 09, 10 and 12)
Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent and a Master’s degree in a relevant field, relevant professional certification where applicable, an NYSC discharge certificate or exemption, practical knowledge in their field, and proficiency in computer applications.
Administrative Officer II (GL 08)
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree, HND or equivalent qualification, an NYSC discharge certificate or exemption, knowledge of data management and ICT tools, and good communication and organisational skills.
Executive Officer (GL 07)
Applicants must possess an NCE or equivalent qualification, basic computer knowledge, good communication skills and the ability to work effectively under supervision.
General requirements
Applicants must:
Be Nigerian citizens by birth or descent.
Present a valid Local Government Certificate of Origin.
Be computer literate.
Be medically fit.
Be 35 years old or below at the time of application.
Have no criminal conviction.
Be willing to serve in any part of the country.
Demonstrate integrity, discipline and commitment to public service.
