ICPC URGES PUBLIC OFFICERS TO REMAIN ACCOUNTABLE TO THE PEOPLE THEY SERVE
The spokesperson for the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), John Okor Odey says public officers must remain accountable to the people they serve as there are no alternative ways.
Odey made the remarks while speaking on the Nigerian Television Authority's flagship programme, “Good Morning Nigeria”, noting that accountability is a fundamental responsibility of every public official. He adds that the establishment of the ICPC in 2000 was aimed at promoting transparency, integrity and accountability in public service.
