Col. Adegbola, Dr. Festus Adedayo Adejumobi And Entourage in Togo for Fidau of Pa Raheem Tijani Durojaiye
Koumea, Togo — Col. Gbenga Adegbola (Rtd.) has led a delegation of prominent indigenes and dignitaries, including the immediate past Chairman of Saki Parapo, Dr. Festus Adedayo Adejumobi, to the Federal Republic of Togo to pay their last respects to the late Pa Raheem Tijani Durojaiye, one of the respected pillars of Saki who passed away in a foreign land.
The delegation travelled to Koumea, Togo, near Lomé, where the late Pa Durojaiye spent his final moments and where the Fidau ceremony was held in his honour.
The presence of Col. Adegbola, Dr. Adejumobi and other dignitaries at the ceremony reflected the deep regard in which the deceased was held by the people of Saki and associates across different spheres of life.
A Pillar of Saki Community
Pa Raheem Tijani Durojaiye was widely known for his involvement in religious, community, social, political and business activities. Before his death, he served as Chairman of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs Saki and Chairman of Ogidigbo Community in Saki.
He also served as Chairman of Saki Recreation Club, further demonstrating his involvement in the social development and activities of the community.
Beyond these positions, Pa Durojaiye was regarded as a politician, businessman and influential community figure, maintaining relationships across different sectors and generations.
He was also the traditional Mogaji (family head) of the Ajibise family, a position that placed him at the centre of family and community responsibilities.
Final Moments in Togo
Pa Raheem Durojaiye breathed his last in Koumea, Togo, where he was receiving care and support from his loving brother, Alhaji Zakariyah Tijani Durojaiye, who is resident in the Togolese Republic.
His death outside Nigeria brought together family members, friends, community leaders and associates from Saki and beyond, who travelled to Togo to honour his memory and participate in the Islamic funeral rites.
For Col. Adegbola, the journey to Togo was an expression of solidarity with the deceased's family and a demonstration of respect for an elder who, during his lifetime, played notable roles in the affairs of Saki.
Dignitaries Pay Their Last Respects
Accompanied by Dr. Festus Adedayo Adejumobi and other dignitaries, Col. Adegbola joined the family and members of the community in offering prayers for the repose of Pa Durojaiye's soul.
The Fidau gathering provided an opportunity for mourners to reflect on the life and legacy of the late community leader, while extending condolences to the family over the loss.
The journey to Koumea has further highlighted the bonds that exist among Saki indigenes, irrespective of geographical boundaries.
As prayers continue to be offered for the deceased, family, friends and associates remember Pa Raheem Tijani Durojaiye as a man who occupied important positions in Islamic affairs, community leadership, social activities, politics and business.
