Judicial Commission to Submit Report on Oriire School Abduction Today
The Judicial Commission of Inquiry set up by the Oyo State Government to investigate the abduction of students and teachers at Esinele and Yawota communities in Oriire Local Government Area is expected to submit its report today.
In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, the commission’s report will be formally received by the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, at the Executive Council Chamber, Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.
The event is scheduled to commence at 12 noon, with top government officials, security chiefs, religious leaders, labour representatives and other stakeholders expected to attend.
The Commissioner said that representatives of the affected communities and schools are also expected, including the Principal of Community High School, Ahoro-Esinele, Mrs Racheal Alamu; Headmaster of Baptist Basic School, Yawota, Mr Adejumo Gabriel; and Headteacher of Local Authority Basic School, Ahoro-Esinele, Mr Oke Jacob Sunday.
Prince Oyelade recalled that Governor Seyi Makinde inaugurated the Judicial Commission of Inquiry on July 31, 2026, with a mandate to investigate and uncover the circumstances surrounding the abduction of the students and teachers at Esinele and Yawota communities in Oriire Local Government Area.
The Judicial Commission was constituted following the May 15, 2026, abduction incident involving students and teachers in Esinele and Yawota communities.
