TROOPS RESCUE 41 TRAVELERS IN ZAMFARA
Troops of Sector 2, Operation Fasan yamma have rescued 41 travelers abducted after their commercial vehicle broke down along a highway in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The vehicle, travelling from Senegal to Kano, developed fault, allowing armed bandits to attack and attempt to move the passengers into the surrounding area.
The troops engaged the criminals forcing them to abandon the victims and flee into nearby farmlands.
The rescued travelers, comprised 24 males, 10 females and seven children, were recovered unharmed and are receiving necessary support.
