SUPREME COURT AFFIRMS EXPULSION OF GABAM AS SDP CHAIRMAN
The lingering dispute over who is the authentic national chairman of the Social Democratic Party SDP has been laid to rest as the Supreme Court of Nigeria says the expulsion of the former National Chairman, Shehu Gabam from the party, followed due process.
In a unanimous judgment, a five-man panel of justices led by Justice Adamu Jauro, affirmed the appeal court judgment that stamped the national chairmanship of Professor Abaubakar Gombe, as the substantive SDP helmsman.
The Supreme Court appeal was filed on behalf of the expelled chairman by SDP candidate in the last Osun governorship election, Salawu Adeniyi Olaitan.
