NPF PENSIONS PROMISES NEW SUPPORT INITIATIVES FOR RETIRED POLICE PERSONNEL
For police officers who spend their active years protecting lives and property, retirement should not become the beginning of another struggle.
However, concerns over pension adequacy, gratuity payments and the welfare of retired personnel remain key issues in discussions about police welfare.
As Police Pension Week takes centre stage, the Nigeria Police Force Pensions says it is taking steps to improve service delivery and address some of the challenges facing serving and retired police officers.
Beyond regular pension payments, NPF Pensions says it operates a Retirement and Resettlement Support Programme to assist retirees while they await the payment of their retirement benefits.
The agency also organises pre-retirement seminars to prepare officers for life after service, including training in skills such as poultry farming and other small-scale businesses.
The initiatives are aimed at helping retired police personnel achieve greater financial stability and adjust to life after active service.
