Hon. Surv. Mufutau Wasiu Ishola (mnis): A Young Mind With Lofty Political Plans For The Old Ifedapo
Hon. Surv. Mufutau Wasiu Ishola (mnis): A Core Grassroots Politician
Hon. Surv. Mufutau Wasiu Ishola (MNIS), popularly known as Hon. MUFWAS, hails from the respected and influential Onilu family, Jangbadi and Ado Royal family, Oke Daodu, Saki in Oyo State. He began his educational journey in his hometown, attending DTC Primary School, Abata Ogun, and later ADS High School, Afotee, Saki for his secondary education. From an early stage in life, politics was not merely an interest but a calling. Immediately after completing his secondary education, he ventured fully into active political participation in 2003 while simultaneously pursuing academic and professional development. In the course of this journey, he obtained his ND and HND Surveying and Geoinformatics from the Federal School of Surveying, Oyo, later becoming a Registered Surveyor, and subsequently earned a B.Sc. in Surveying and Geoinformatics from the University of Lagos.
Over the years, Hon. MUFWAS has drawn inspiration from great progressive leaders such as Chief Bola Ige, Chief Michael Koleosho, and the late Governor Lam Adesina. Their leadership and political ideology firmly rooted him in the Awolowo progressive school of thought, shaping his unwavering commitment to progressive politics. This ideological foundation has strengthened his loyalty to party principles and his readiness to defend and sustain the legacy of the progressive movement whenever called upon.
His political journey reflects years of steadfast dedication to progressive politics as a committed card-carrying member of the party. Within the party structure, he has served in several capacities including Polling Unit Party Agent, APC Registration Agent, APC Registration Coordinator for Ward 8 (Second Registration Exercise), Congress Coordinator for Ward 1 before the 2019 General Election, and APC Ward 8 Collation Officer during the 2019 General Election. He has also contested party primaries through the consensus process twice for Councillorship in Ward 8 and twice for the Oyo State House of Assembly, respectfully stepping down at different times in deference to party supremacy, unity, and collective interest.
Hon. MUFWAS’s present aspiration to represent Saki West, Saki East, and Atisbo Federal Constituency in the National Assembly marks his fifth attempt under the progressive platform, demonstrating remarkable resilience, loyalty, and an unwavering belief in service to the people. Through consistent participation in party meetings and regular engagement with members across all levels, he has gained a deep understanding of the needs, challenges, and aspirations of both the party and the grassroots community.
A natural bridge-builder and consensus seeker, Hon. MUFWAS remains committed to strengthening party unity, fostering harmony among stakeholders, and ensuring effective representation if entrusted with the mandate in 2027. With his proven loyalty, political experience, and deep grassroots connection, he stands prepared to serve the people of Ifedapo Federal Constituency with dedication, integrity, and sincerity, Insha’Allah.
Beyond politics, Hon. MUFWAS has contributed immensely to the development of his hometown and the broader Oke Ogun region through professional and academic service. During his Industrial Training days, he served as an Instructor at The Polytechnic Ibadan, Saki Campus, and currently lectures at The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki, where he was among the pioneer lecturers who established the Department of Surveying and Geoinformatics. He played key roles in pioneering several courses within the department and contributed professionally as a surveyor during the early development stage of the Saki Dual Road project. These contributions were made largely out of commitment to community development, often with little or no financial reward.
Driven by deep love for his hometown, neighbouring communities, and Oyo State at large, Hon. MUFWAS chose to establish DE-HORIZON Survey Geomatics Engineering Ltd. within the constituency rather than situating it in Lagos where greater financial gains could easily be pursued. This deliberate decision has allowed him to remain close to the people, interact widely with stakeholders, and build meaningful relationships with individuals and dignitaries across Ifedapo Federal Constituency and Oyo State.
To cap it all, Honourable Mufutau Wasiu Ishola has been engaging in various philanthropic activities for a very long time; when he had not even conceived the idea of going for electoral position.
No wonder his phylantropic beneficiaries are encouraging him with the loudest and popular voice to vie for the representation of Saki-West, Saki-East and ATISBO Federal Constituency in the national assembly.
