Adebayo Adelabu, the Minister of Power, has launched the 2025 Mega Empowerment and Economic Relief Programme in Oyo State, Nigeria. The initiative aims to alleviate economic hardship faced by residents, particularly traders, artisans, and farmers.
On October 31, 2025, Adelabu disbursed N100 million as business support grants to beneficiaries across Oyo State's 33 local governments. The programme is part of Adelabu's efforts to give back to society and support small-scale business owners struggling with economic realities.
The empowerment programme targets various groups, including market women, traders, artisans, farmers, students, widows, orphans, and persons with disabilities. Faith-based communities, such as the Muslim community, Christian Association of Nigeria, and traditional worshippers, are also included.
Adelabu emphasized that the initiative is not politically motivated but an act of gratitude and community support. He urged Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, assuring them that the nation would soon benefit from ongoing reforms.
The programme is implemented through the Bayo Adelabu Foundation, which has been giving back to society annually. Adelabu described the initiative as a way to thank God for His guidance, protection, and blessings in his personal and professional jouney.
